A lens made of rock crystal was found at the Assyrian Palace of Nirmud and it is atleast 3000 years old. Giovanni Pettinato, an Italian scientist of the University of Rome suggested that the lens may have been used a portion of a telescope by the Assyrians. |

Perfume |

The first record of development of perfumes was found in a cuneiform tablet in Mesopotamia. It reveals that at around 2000BC a woman called Tapputi, who is also believed the earliest chemist of the world, made perfumes. It is described that she used to distil flowers, oil and calamus along with different fragrant and keep them for long time. |

The oldest evidence of plumbing is found during the Indus Valley Civilisation. Earthen pipes with broad flanges were used to stop leakages. Plumbing began during the Greek, Roman, Persian, Chinese and Indian Civilisations in order to supply water and drain the wastes. |
