Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, Cam-Bot, and Gypsy |
Mystery Science Theater 3000 fans will definitely remember the four sidekick robots of Joel Robinson who accompanied him while he watched the Science fiction B-movies: Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, Cam-Bot, and Gypsy. These zany bunches of robots provide humor, song, pundts and side comments while the movie plays. As a viewer, you would rather listen to what these robots had to say than the watching the movie itself. The show lasted for an impressive 11 years and continues to have a loyal fan base. |

Data from the Star Trek: The Next Generation |
If the Original Start Trek series had Spock, Star Trek: The Next Generation had Data - an android that practically knew about everything. Everything to him was based on logic and systems. Emotions were unfamiliar territory. Although, through the series, Data slowly learns about people, feelings and being more human-like. |

Star War's C-3PO and R2-D2 |
These Driods (short of Androids) have been the icons of the Star Wars saga similarly to the likes of Luke Skywaker, Han Solo and Darth Vader. A take on the Odd couple, the smooth talking C-3PO and the technically sound R2-D2 seem to end up in the most unique situations and somehow surviving them. One thing is for sure. These two kick-ass robots are inseparable and unforgettable. |

Gort from "The Day The Earth Stood Still" |
Classic robot fans will remember Gort from the unforgettable sci-fi movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still." It was 1951 and sci-fi movies were money makers. The movie was set in Washington as a spaceship jolts the everyday life of the earthlings. As the army prepares for any eventuality, out comes Gort - an eight-foot giant metal robot that has the ability to blast anything in his path with a lazer visor beam. Gort was reintroduced to new and younger audiences in the 2008 version of the film with the same title. This time, it was in CGI who was taller and more lifelike. |

The Terminators |
The movie that shot Arnold Schwarzenegger to movie immortality, the Terminators were machines who battled the humans for world domination. They are programmed to kill, to infiltrate, and to assassinate any target without question. As the villain in the first installment of the movie, the Terminator (played by Schwarzenegger) wore a "skin suit" instead of being in full metal exo-skeleton. However, in the next films, he was now the hero and even battled an advanced mercury-like Terminator called the T-1000 and a female Terminator called the T-X. |
