The American Cinematographer magazine drafted a ranking of the best 50 movies made from 1998 to 2008, based on a survey of no less than 17.000 cinema-goers choices.
To everyone's surprise, at the top is the French romantic comedy "Audrey Tautou," directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, and the starring actress Audrey Tautou rewarded by the American Academy Film with five nominations in 2002.
Bruno Delbonnel, the producer behind the movie "Amelie", said to The American Cinematographer Magazine publishers that for him, this is a great honor, although he's not convinced that he deserves the right to be on a stage with these explorers in the cinema, saying that his success is more valuable because of the titles of films that competed with "Amelie".
The second position of the deck has been awarded to the science fiction thriller "Children of Men" directed by Mexican producer Alfonso Cuaron.
Last place of the podium was occupied by "Saving Private Ryan" a war drama directed by Steven Spielberg and Janusz Kaminski. There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men completed the Top 5.
Roger Deakins, the eight times Oscar-nominated since 1995, boasts no less than four top 50 films, among them are "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford", "O Brother, Where Art Thou "or" The Man Who Wasn't There. "by FW Editor |
