'The Thing' will be released on April 29, 2011

Friday, June 25 2010

The folks at Universal Pictures informs us that movie The Thing will be released in cinemas on April 29, 2011.

In order not to conflict directly with movies of the same bill (more or less), the film will have the premiere two weeks after the launch of the horror movie Scream 4, and a week after Red Riding Hood (the movie that reinvents the story tale of Red Riding Hood into a more Gothic one).

A week later Kenneth Branagh launches his movie called Thor.

The Thing is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen, and is actually a prequel to the original one, made by John Carpenter back in 1982.

The movie plot is relatively simple. A team of scientists go to Antarctica to study a newly discovered alien ship.

A mysterious body escapes from the ship and starts to kill everyone randomly. A PhD and a helicopter pilot make a team to end the massacre.
