10 cold as ice movies for a hot summer

Thursday, August 26 2010

The heat is high, mon cher. The sun burns, the asphalt melts and the temperature in the thermometers is going only one way.

Of course, there are many methods to escape the heat: you can take a bath in a river, you can start the air conditioning in your car until icicles are hanging from your eyebrows, you can move to South Pole, etc…

Our method is the following one: turn on the DVD player and relax while watching 10 movies in which the temperature is below zero, this might get you a little refresh.

1. Dr. Zhivago (1965 – with Omar Sharif and Julie Christie)
2. The Thing (1982 – with Kurt Russell and Wilford Brimley)
3. Alive (1993 – with Ethan Hawke and Vincent Spano)
4. Fargo (1996 – with William H. Macy and Steve Buscemi )
5. Vertical Limit (2000 – with Chris O'Donnell and Robin Tunney)
6. The Day After Tomorrow (2004 – with Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal)
7. 30 Days of Night (2007 – with Josh Hartnett and Melissa George)
8. Let the Right One In (2008 – with Kåre Hedebrant and Lina Leandersson)
9. Whiteout (2009 – with Kate Beckinsale and Gabriel Macht)
10. Dead Snow (2009 – with Charlotte Frogner and Ørjan Gamst)
