Clay Aiken, the runner-up of the second season of American Idol, once commented on Adam Lambert's version of Ring of Fire which was originally performed by Johnny Cash saying that it was "contrived, awful, and slightly frightening…Just not my cup of tea at all."
However, Aiken immediately said sorry a day after posting those comments. "I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me."
Lambert, the runner-up of the recently concluded season of American Idol, told Access Hollywood, "I don't know Clay. I'm glad he's getting headlines now though, because he wasn't before."
He also mentioned, "If he wants to ride my coattails about it, good for him."
