Alicia Keys received the award for best R & B female artist of the year, while Chris Brown received Fandemonium Award at the BET Awards Gala, held Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Furthermore, the award for Best Male R & B was awarded to Trey Songz. Also Minaj Nicki and Drake received awards for best hip-hop artists. During the gala, Nicki Minaj received the award for Best New Artist.
However, the award for best gospel was awarded to the artist Marvin Sapp, and best musical group was named Young Money.
Alicia Keys and Jay-Z received the award for best collaboration for the song "Empire State of Mind" while the best video of the year was named "Video Phone" from Beyonce (featuring Lady Gaga) .
Best Actress Award went to Mo'Nique and Best Actor Award was awarded to Idris Elba. Also, the film "Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire" received the award for best film.
Also, the title of best athlet went to Serena Williams, while the year athlete was named LeBron James.
On the other hand, the Public award went to the singer Rihanna (featuring Young Jeezy), for "Hard", while Dizzee Rascal from UK received the award for best international band.
In the gala, Prince received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, and John Legend " the Humanitarian Award.
The BET Awards Gala (Black Entertainment Television) was presented by Queen Latifah and included performances by artists such as B.o.b, Alicia Keys, Eminem and Ludacris.
