The balloon boy saga of the Heene family was considered a hoax according to the sheriff of Larimer County, Colorado Jim Alderden.
The official said, "It has been determined this was a hoax." Abreast of Alderden's statement, arrests will be made after the investigation.
Reports have it that the parents of the balloon boy Richard and Mayumi Heene were eyeing on a reality TV show for the whole family before the incident happened. Taking this into consideration, there have been speculations that the balloon boy incident was just a publicity stunt.
On Saturday, after a search warrant was issued on the Heene's home, computers, financial records, and other equipment were taken out by the authorities.
