Billboard Named Nicki Minaj Rising Star of 2011

Friday, November 25 2011

Nicki Minaj is having a great year. She just became one of the biggest names in rap/hip-hop/pop. And with this new honor from Billboard, she's going to get even bigger.
Billboard announced that Nicki Minaj was voted the Billboard's Rising Star of 2011. The artist will receive the reward during Billboard's "Women in Music" event on December 2 in New York City. No doubt she will choose some ridiculous outfit for the event.
In a recent statement, Minaj said she was "deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard" and that she and her fans "mighty long way" but are not close to where "God will take us."
