Brian Littrell of Backstreet Boys Has Swine Flu

Tuesday, October 6 2009

A day before the release of their seventh studio album 'This Is U,' Backstreet Boys cancelled their show appearances and other promotion-related events.

It has to be done because Brian Littrell, one of its members, was diagnosed with swine flu according to reports. Fortunately, other members Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean were free of the virus' symptoms.

The boy band cancelled their appearance at the Pinktober Hard Rock Cafe in New York City on Monday. Their stint on CBS' Early Show was also cancelled. In a statement, "We were really looking forward to spending time with our closest fans and friends in NYC and take part of Pinktober, an unbelievable and important program," said Littrell. "I hope we can come back soon and do everything we can to help."
