Bristol Palin Promotes Sexual Abstinence

Thursday, May 7 2009

by Joe Halls

The 18-year-old daughter of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Bristol Palin, is Candie's Foundation's teen ambassador. With her new role, she is slated to raise awareness about the consequences of teen pregnancy.

As part of Candie's Foundation national campaign, she will be promoting sexual abstinence to other teenagers.

On her guestings on ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today, she was questioned by the interviewers regarding her new advocacy because she wasn't even practicing it saying that abstinence is "difficult."

She said, "Regardless of what I did personally, I just think that abstinence is the only…100 percent foolproof way to prevent pregnancy." She later continued, "I'm just here trying to tell teens this is a really hard job."
