Brooke Shields shared her scary experience of almost getting cancer recently. "I had a spot on my face. The doctor scraped it, and it turned out to be precancerous. I was scared," she said.
Though the spot was already taken away, such incident was a great lesson for all women who "used to think it was the best thing in the world to be baking in the sun."
During her teenage years, "All my girlfriends and I would go up on the roof in New York; we didn't have to be at the beach. You think that because you're not in the sun anymore, it's all in the past. And then something like that crops up and you're made aware of how dangerous it really can be."
The actress later revealed that she had discontinued tanning a decade ago.
