Casey Aldridge May Be Imprisoned

Tuesday, May 5 2009

by Joe Halls

Now that the father of Jamie Lynn Spears' 10-month-old daughter, Casey Aldridge, has gone out of the hospital, there is a possibility that he may serve some time in jail. Aldridge was charged with careless operation of a motor vehicle after driving his truck into a ditch where it flipped on April 26.

Louisiana criminal attorney Lester Gauthier said that Spears' boyfriend may be fined of more than $175 and/or imprisoned for less than 30 days.

"A typical sentence might be the fine plus court costs. He may not have a prison sentence. If he is given a prison sentence, it likely will be suspended," Gauthier explained. "(Aldridge's) license would probably not be suspended…With the court's permission, an attorney could appear for him. He could pay the fine and not have to appear."

The lawyer added, "Certainly an accident with injuries would be considered more serious than simply running off the road into a ditch."
