Cheryl Cole was transported to the hospital on Sunday during a photo shoot for her new album, because she fainted.
Doctors diagnosed the singer with malaria, they intend to keep her under strict surveillance over the next two weeks.
Looks like Cheryl has contacted the disease after a visit to Tanzania alongside her new boyfriend, Derek Hough, three weeks ago.
Although she followed a preventive treatment against malaria, Cheryl Cole, has been contaminated, most probably because of mosquitoes.
"She told the doctors that she is having a stomach pain since the return from Africa.
Her condition deteriorated rapidly this weekend so she realized that something is seriously wrong. She spent 48 hours in bed, trying to recover from what she believed to be a stomach disorder. She was very weak and even had moments when she lost her consciousness.
At the hospital, tests showed that it is malaria. Everyone is worried for her, “said the artist spokesman.
