Chris Brown Finally Sentenced

Thursday, August 27 2009

After Chris Brown pleaded guilty to the felony assault against Rihanna in June, the singer was finally sentenced on Tuesday in a Los Angeles courtroom to a five-year probation, one year of domestic violence classes, and six months of community service.

Regarding the 20-year-old's community labor duties, DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said, "Brown's labor hours will be flexible to accommodate his entertainment career."

Brown was also ordered to stay away at least 100 yards from Rihanna--10 yards if they are attending a similar event. L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg asked, "I'm not immune to any chatter on the airwaves. Do you understand Mr. Brown that any violation of this order is a violation of your probation and it comes with the possible penalty of prison?" Brown answered, "Yes."
