David Letterman, well-known TV talk-show host, was demanded to pay $2 million as extortion money by an individual who threatened to write a book and a screenplay exposing Letterman's alleged affairs with his female collegues.
In connection to this, an employee of the documentary show "48 hours" of CBS was arrested on Thursday.
According to Letterman, he had discovered a wrapping in his car with a note from a person saying, "I know that you do some terrible, terrible things and I can prove that you do these terrible things." Letterman said that the wrapping contained enough evidence to prove the point.
He accepted the allegations and said that he, in fact, had physical relation with his collegues but it would be embarrassing to have it made public.
CBS stated that the employee has been suspended and has been arrested on charges of attempted grand larceny. "Mr. Letterman addressed the issue during the show's broadcast this evening, and we believe his comments speak for themselves," the statement added.
