Last week we found out that Leonardo DiCaprio, which we will see in the most awaited movie of the year, Inception, is likely to interpret a role which will bring him to the attention of the Academy Award.
Clint Eastwooddirects a controversial film about the life of J. Edgar Hoover, founder of the FBI and certainly the American political personality connected to all the scandals at that time.
At a press conference related to Inception, DiCaprio was asked about his new project and confirmed that he is at the last one hundred meters before signing the contract.
The actor said that the film will cover the entire life and career of Hoover and it will reach the milestones of his career, from Vietnam War to John Dillinger, and to the death of Martin Luther King and the assassination of J.F. Kennedy.
But one of the most interesting questions about the new draft is that Eastwood's film will cover allegations of homosexuality against Hoover, who was said at one point that used to participate in gay orgies in the late '50s.
The script is written by Dustin Lance Black a declared gay writer, the story has every chance to go in this alleged way of Hoover's life.
But DiCaprio said he has no information about this aspect of the script and he doesn't believe he needs to wear dresses for this role ...
The first collaboration between Eastwood and DiCaprio could go into production at the end of the year, and the premiere could take place in autumn 2011.
