Earlier last week, Elizabeth Taylor told her followers on Twitter that she would undergo a "very new" heart procedure which "involves repairing my leaky valve using a clip device."
The actress even asked her fans for prayers for her fast recovery. "Any prayers you happen to have lying around I would dearly appreciate," the 77-year-old posted on Tuesday.
On Thursday evening, Taylor was ecstatic in relaying the good news. "My heart procedure went off perfectly," she tweeted. "It's like having a brand-new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes. I know they all helped."
