According to reports Fiona Coyne, the South African TV presenter has died at the age of 45
She was found dead in her Cape Town home Tuesday and The Citizen informs us that paramedics found pills and a suicide note next to her body
Police spokesman Chris Cloete said Fiona was found early yesterday morning by her domestic worker, who then alerted the police.
"The domestic worker found her around 8am. When we arrived we found a suicide note and some pills lying around," he said.
Cloete said police had opened an inquest docket, but no foul play was suspected.
Weakest Link producer Kee-Leen Irvine said she was devastated to learn about the tragic death of her dear friend.
"It's difficult to put a persona the size of Fiona's into just a few words. She was small in stature, but a giant to work with in terms of sheer talent, professionalism and work ethic. Fiona was, for me, poetry in motion," Irvine said.
"At this stage it is a suspected suicide, but until the official investigation is complete we cannot say for sure that is the case.
"No foul play is suspected. Her family are all in a deep state of shock," Irvine said.by FW Editor |
