Francis Ford Coppola and Jean-Luc Godard will receive honorary Oscars

Wednesday, October 6 2010

Jean-Luc Godard, Eli Wallach and Kevin Brownlow were selected to receive honorary Oscar and Francis Ford Coppola will be awarded with the Irving Thalberg Award.
Francis Ford Coppola had already received two Oscars (for the script and for directing the film The Godfather: Part II).

Honorary Oscars are given to prevent any embarrassing situations in which actors / directors or writers die without their valuable contributions are acknowledged in the movie world. Wallach - which we know as Tuco in The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly has appeared in over 50 films in his career of 54 years and will soon appear in Wall Street: Money Never Sleep.

Godard is a legend and is one of the most influential filmmakers in life, and an Oscar offered now in its 11th hour is more than deserved.

Kevin Brownlow has contributed to the movie world as a movie reviewer.

The Wrap informs us that the prizes will be awarded to the second Governor's Award ceremony, on November 13.
