Guillermo del Toro recently said, that he will write a script and will direct a remake of The Haunted Mansion.
"We are not walking in the footsteps of Eddie Murphy... we are not making a comedy... all that I can say for now is that we are preparing something funny, but scary. Dark imagery is an essential part of the legacy of Walt Disney.
Don't forget that Disney itself is responsible for some downright chilling characters - think of Chernabog from Fantasia, or Maleficent, think about the Evil Queen from Snow White, "said the filmmaker.
Despite these statements, people at Disney inform us that del Toro has signed only for the scenario and production quality. We’ll see if he'll also be directing this remake.by FW Editor |
