Ice Age Fires Up Global Box Office |

In North America, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs and the reigning number one film Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen both topped the U.S. Independence Day holiday weekend box office results with $42.5 million tickets sold each.
But worldwide, Ice Age has a clear edge against Transformers. The former earned $148 million from 101 foreign markets while the latter hauled $55 million from 62 markets for its second weekend.
The live-action film is currently the biggest film of the year with a global sum of $591 million. Ice Age, on the other hand, reaped $67.5 million in North America since it opened last Wednesday and it currently has a worldwide gross of $215.5 million.
