Jay-Z defended Kanye West with regard to the MTV VMAs controversy involving the hip hop artist and the country singer Taylor Swift.
"Of course it was rude because it was her moment, but that's the way he really felt," he told BBC Radio 1. "I think it was rude, but the way they're treating him ... He's on the cover of every paper. He didn't kill anybody. No one got harmed."
During the awards night, West went onstage and declared that Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce, should have won. Jay-Z opined that West's actions were "inappropriate at the time," but "he's just a super-passionate person."
