Katherine Jackson Denied as Interim Executor

Katherine Jackson Denied as Interim Executor

Tuesday, July 7 2009

Regarding the request of Michael Jackson's mother to be the interim executor of the songster's estate, Katherine Jackson was denied to be in control of her son's assets according to the ruling of L.A. Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff.

She still is the temporary guardian of Michael's kids. According to the will drafted by the King of Pop in 2002, John Branca and John McClain are named as the executors and the special administrators of the estate. The two sides, however, will return to the court on August 3.

Howard Weitzman, the lawyer of Branca and McClain, said, "We believe Judge Beckloff made the correct decision. We intend to carry out the wishes Michael Jackson set forth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family this week in remembering Michael as a beloved father, son and brother, and as the world honors his remarkable legacy as an artist."
