A British tabloid informs us that Keira Knightley who is 25 years old will play the role of Lady D, and Helen Miren, who is 65 years old, will be cast as her mother, Frances Shand Kydd.
The film is expected to hit theaters next year to coincide with what would have been Diana's 50th birthday. The year also marks 30 years since Diana's wedding to Prince Charles.
"The project is in the early stages but Pathe has chosen 2011 quite deliberately," a source said.
"There's a buzz about this. Pathe also made The Duchess, which starred Keira as Georgiana, the fifth Duchess of Devonshire — the great-great-great-great aunt of Diana — and controversially used an image of Diana to trail the movie."
"They believe that footage made the film a big hit in America where Diana still has a loyal following. They think Keira will be perfect to play Diana."
"It will be in the same vein as their movie The Queen and will detail the ups and downs of Diana's marriage and the early lives of the Princes."by fw editor |
