Kelly Rowland Discusses New Show

Friday, May 8 2009

by Joe Halls

The former Destiny’s Child member, Kelly Rowland, will co-host a reality show entitled The Fashion Show with Isaac Mizrahi and Fern Mallis. The program will showcase young designers who will compete while marketing and selling their own apparels.

Rowland shared, "I think what makes The Fashion Show so unique is that it's the people's decision, and not only that but it's a real show for real people… This is coming from the consumer’s point of view — what they like, how it fits, how creative it is."

It will be the members of the studio audience who will vote for their favorite every week. The winner, however, will be voted by home audiences.

Mallis added, "The real truth is that no matter how fabulous any fashion show is, it doesn't matter if people don't wear and buy the clothes." Mizrahi also commented, "I learned a great deal from hearing what the public had to say about clothes. Sometimes Kelly, Fern and I would say, 'Oh, this is going to be in the Top 2' and then we'd be shocked when it wasn't."
