"I try not to be rude to fans but I need to have boundaries," she said.
"Recently I was enjoying a quiet lunch in Liverpool with a friend I haven't seen in a long while. This guy approaches our table, clearly the worse for drink. He says, 'C'mon, stand up - I want a photo with you.' My response was, 'I won't do it. I'm not working right now, this is my time.' I don't like to be put in a position where I'm made to feel like I've just arrived in Disneyland dressed as Mickey Mouse and my duty is to pose with complete strangers." Kim Cattrall added.
The blonde beauty also admits she originally turned down the role of Samantha Jones in Sex and the City because she didn't think it was for her.
"I turned down the role of Samantha three times. I'd read the book and threw it across the room because I found it so depressing," she said.
"Then I was offered the part, read it again, and still didn't think it was for me. I just didn't care for the characters. It was only after numerous meetings that they convinced me Samantha wasn't a silly two-dimensional character and I finally said yes."
However, she is now pleased she did accept the role as it has allowed her financial security.
"It put me in a position where I only have to say yes to things that I really want to do," she said. "That's rare, not just in my profession but in any area of life. It makes me feel blessed."by fw editor |
