Just like with any other massive celebrity, Lady Gaga was recently the subject of a celebrity death hoax. However, the rumor of her demise didn't last because unlike with someone who's a little more off the radar (Spencer Pratt for instance), the rumor could easily be verified.
But back to Gaga's death hoax, an online scam claimed Lady Gaga was found dead in a hotel room a few days ago. Some hackers spread the following headline via socialization websites: "BREAKING: Lady Gaga Found Dead in Hotel Room." The headline was linked to a BBC News story and a description reading "This is the most awful day in US history." Just like the rumor, the BBC website was a fake one.
