Lance Armstrong suffers injury with broken collarbone

Tuesday, March 24 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

While racing on Monday in the Vuelta Castilla y Leon, Spain, world renowned American cyclist, Lance Armstrong, suffered an injury in which his collarbone was broken.

The cyclist wrote in his twitter channel that he will undergo a surgery for the fracture in his right collarbone. That may prevent him from racing in the Giro d'Italia in May. Armstrong said that he is very disappointed, "especially for the Giro".

Though the accident has disturbed his forthcoming events, Armstrong said that he wants now to rest and come back to form. This accident, which is very common among cyclists, has happened to Armstrong for the first time in his long career of 17 years.
