Above all, we must mention that this story is a simple unfounded rumor. It looks like Mel Gibson, fell out of favor for various reasons more or less justified, is in talks with producer Joel Silver for his role as Martin Riggs in the sequel of Lethal Weapon 5.
The film was officially announced in 2005 when Gibson was given the chance to play again the unpredictable Riggs in the famous franchise. Then, the actor declined the offer. Now, that the future is not too pink, he is trying to resuscitate his career.
If we believe the people from What's Playing, Silver and Gibson are extensively discussing about Lethal Weapon 5. Looks like the actor changed his mind and he thinks he can revitalize his career with this sequel. He just refused the role of the new Mad Max.
