Melanie Griffith Is In A Rehab Facility

Wednesday, August 26 2009

Melanie Griffith, the wife of actor Antonio Banderas, checked into a rehab facility, Cirque Lodge in Utah.

"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," her representative Robin Baum confirmed. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."

This is the third time Griffith entered a rehab. She sought treatment in 1988 apparently due to alcoholism and cocaine addiction, and in 2000 because of an addiction to painkillers. She released a statement in 2000 saying, "My doctor has referred me to the Daniel Freeman Hospital to step down from the prescribed medication that I have been taking for a neck injury."
