The actor who is 66 years old is bravely battling Stage IV throat cancer and the couple - who have been married for 10 years and raise two children together - fear these could be their final days together.
His wife, the beautiful actress was in her home country of Wales for a Ryder Cup golf tournament event. According to some insiders she received an upsetting phone call from her ailing husband's medical team.
"The doctor spoke to her about Michael's condition," a source told America's Star magazine.
"She was forced to cut her trip short and rushed back to his side in New York, worrying that she might be returning to say goodbye."
"They're trying to be brave, but really they're preparing for the worst."
Michael recently revealed he and Catherine are planning a trip around the world if he beats the disease.
"Once we're through this, Catherine and I are talking about taking the kids out of school for a year and traveling around the world - Phuket and Vietnam; we'd love to take the family down to New Zealand and spend some time in South Africa," he said. "We're still trying to figure out what age you can get away with taking the kids away from their friends and not have them hate you for it."
"From now on I'm going to spend all my efforts on the people I'm closest to. When you're younger you are so self-involved, self-obsessed. As you get older, all of a sudden, you begin to appreciate relationships, be understanding about the foibles of life, more forgiving - and you've got more time for the kids. It makes for a much happier marriage and family environment."by fw editor |
