Michael Jackson, 50, was declared dead at 2:26 p.m. at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Thursday due to cardiac arrest. Jackson's manager, Frank DiLeo, stated, "It's a very sad day for all of us. It's such a terrible shame. He was my friend."
A statement from the hospital said, a 911 call was made when the King of Pop was stricken. "His personal physician, who was with him at the time, attempted to resuscitate Jackson, as did paramedics who transferred him."
And when he was brought to the hospital 1:14 p.m., "A team of doctors including emergency physicians and cardiologists attempted to resuscitate for a period of more than one hour but were unsuccessful," the statement continued. The death of Jackson really came as a surprise to many because he was even rehearsing for his upcoming concerts the day before he passed away.
