Movie John Rabe grabs Lola nominations in seven categories

German movie, John Rabe, has pocketed total 7 nominations for the Lolas, also known as the German Film Awards. Among the categories the movie has been nominated for include best director, best film, best supporting actor and best actor.


The movie has been directed by Florian Gallenberger and casts Ulrich Tukur in the lead role as John Rabe. Steve Buscemi, Anne Consigny and Daniel Brühl are also among the cast. Steve Buscemi got one of the rare credits of being nominated as a non-German actor in the category of best supporting actor.


The movie is set in late 1930s and tells a real-life saga of a German who tries to save the lives of hundreds and thousands in the Nanjing massacre.
