Polanski's victim said she was happy with the verdict

Friday, July 30 2010

The victim who was raped by Roman Polanski and for which he was convicted in the U.S. was pleased with the verdict, after the Swiss court refused to extradite director, said the authorities.

Samantha Geimer, who is now 40 years old, has repeatedly asked U.S. authorities to stop the allegations of Polanski, but without result.

"I'm pleased and I hope the prosecutor decision to close the case will end it all," said the victim for Europe 1 radio.

Frenchwoman actress Emmanuelle Seigner, is married with Polanski sine 1989 said that the court's decision ended a nightmare stretched over too many years.

"It's the end of a nightmare, especially for our two children. I could not imagine a different outcome. Swiss authorities have made injustice in this case. "

The director was detained for eight months under house arrest at his villa in Gstaad, but left this place on Monday, when he was set free.

Not yet known if the director will return to France, but it would be the most inspired move that he could do at this point, especially that France can't extradite him because he has French citizenship.
