The movie, Race to Witch Mountain, had a big time this weekend. It grossed an amount of $25 million as reported by Media by Numbers. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock, in lead role. This is the second movie of The Rock that had such a big opening; his previous hit movie, The Scorpion King, had grossed $36.1 million in its opening week.
Experts think that Race to Witch Mountain will have a stronghold on the box office for sometime until the release of Monsters vs. Aliens. Race to Witch Mountain also had a favourable luck as the movie Watchmen had a heavy drop after its opening week.
