Warner Bros. obtain the film rights of the SF novel, Ready Player One, Ernie Cline's (screenwriter of the fanboys), for an amount of six figures, Variety announced. Ernie Cline will start with this novel.
The studios will be the producer of Donald De Line. The negotiations ended Friday, when Warner Bros. had a better deal than another major participant in the auction, Paramount.
Ready Player One is about a teenager who escapes from his gray-life in a virtual world, idyllic, called Oasis. He gets to participate in a treasure hunt against ruthless enemies, all in this virtual space, after the founder dies and the game offer their property as a Grand Prix.
The tender for sale of rights to the novel, Ready Player One has been described as combining elements of Avatar, Matrix and Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
Donald De Line is producing for Warner Bros. at the moment the movie called Green Lantern in which we can see Ryan Reynolds.by FW Editor |
