Real robots in new Terminator

Saturday, May 23 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

So far, the Terminator series has shown robots on screen with the help of computer

generated images (CGI). But the new sequel of the series, "Terminator Salvation", will

feature real robots.

Filmmaker
target="_blank">Joseph McGinty Nichol
will be using this highly expensive and

explosive real robots as a deliberate choice to address the needs and intelligence of the

audience. The movie cew feels that today's viewers can observe the difference between

real objects and any special effects later added on a blue screen background.

Also, this move is a tribute to late
target="_blank">Stan Winston
, the famous special effects supervisor of previous

Terminator movies.
