Russell Crowe is a man of law in 'The Equalizer'

Friday, June 25 2010

According to an article published by the LA Times, Russell Crowe was cast in the lead role in the movie The Equalizer. The Australian actor will play the ultra-tough Robert McCall.

In the original production this mysterious character is placed in the middle of the story without too many explanations and justifications.

It says at a certain time that he was an employee of a secret agency and he's responsible for some very reprehensible incidents.

However, Robert McCall was built on the pattern of a modern Robin Hood: angry on those with influence, who decides to help the weak ones. Some can say that this McCall looks like Dirty Harry: is brutally effective, and often seem insensitive to the moral demands of society in which he operates.

So far they haven't found financing for the project, but the producer Mace Neufeld is convinced that the film studios will want the script.
