In her first of a series of interviews with Oprah, former John McCain's vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin called Levi Johnston's upcoming appearance in Playgirl "porn" and added, "It's kind of heartbreaking to see the road he is on right now."
She relayed that Johnston could hardly find time to visit his son these days because "he's kind of on a media tour right now." On the other hand, she dished that her daughter Bristol is doing "an amazing job" as a first-time mom, and that she is showing young women the "consequences to unprotected sex. She is saying, "Girls, wait.'"
But during the McCain campaign, Palin primarily opted to hide the pregnancy of her daughter saying, "This is not to be glamorized. This is not to be emulated… I didn't want that message getting out there that we were giddy happy to become grandparents." However, the news broke out and she later realized that the pregnancy "might be an issue, but that it could show some realism in an American life, in a normal American family."
