An opinion poll conducted showed that the popularity of the Italian Prime Minister Silvo Berlusconi has crossed 75 percent. It makes him statistically more popular than Barack Obama or any other highest authorities of governments around the world.

Beslusconi said in an interview that Barack Obama's popularity stands at 59 percent, according to the poll, while Brazilian President Luiz Inacio is 64 percent.

According to a poll conducted by La Repubblica, Berlusconi's popularity had risen from 56 percent in April because of the quick measures his government took against an earthquake that stuck the country recently.

Berlusconi has often blamed the media for providing bad publicity for him, though actually he controls the maximum of the Italian TV media.
