Since the departure of American Idol judge Paula Abdul on Fox's hit singing competition, her close pal judge Simon Cowell already feels the difference without her presence on the show.
Cowell told Extra that Idol is now "different. It's like comparing a carrot to a banana." He, however, said that he doesn't want to "get in the middle" of Abdul and the show's executives.
When Abdul was asked what kind of show she wanted to have, "I definitely want to do a talk show because it would be different," she replied. "It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff and tributes to everyday people getting their big chance."
