Good news for those who are regular on Hulu.com. On the eve of its one year birthday celebration, the website launced a social networking section called Hulu Friends. It follows the path of successful ventures like Facebook and Myspace. Hulu Friends also integrates email providers like Yahoo and Gmail. These new features enable users to know the videos that their buddies are watching. They can also sent messages to their friends.
Hulu.com is a nice place for viewing movies and TV shows on the internet. But it has a long way to go before it marches along with internet biggies like YouTube. A research showed only 1.7% of the total videos on the internet are viewed on Hulu.com. So this is a new venture for Hulu.com to draw new audience and spread their news far and wide. Users will benefit from the networking feature and views videos at the same time - that is what Hulu.com wants to deliver.
