The actor who plays one of the Salvatore brothers in "The Vampire Diaries" wants to hold a telethon on ecological purposes.
Somerhalder asked his colleagues to help him organize a telethon with celebrities hoping to raise funds in order to diminish the dramatic effects caused by the Gulf of Mexico oil leak.
Ian Somerhalder was born in a town near the area affected by the oil leak which was not yet stopped by the company that caused it in April.
He was recently in his hometown and was shocked by the effects caused by this leak and decided to ask his colleagues to help him organize a telethon like the one George Clooney organized to help the victims in Haiti.
"I am shocked and sad that nobody is doing anything to change this situation. I think a telethon would be the best way to raise some good money.
You can't imagine how many damage and many casualties it was caused by the oil leak. I saw dead pelicans and I'm very affected, "he said.by FW Editor |
