The sequel of the 2007 live action film Transformers directed by Michael Bay has already raked $387 million worldwide since it opened last week. In North America alone, it has earned $201 million only in its first 5 days.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen definitely beats industry expectations. It sets the record of being the second biggest film of all time in North America in terms of its five-day opening. It is behind The Dark Knight which hauled $203.8 million last year.
The film opened in 58 markets last Wednesday. The movie has become a hit in Britain with $27 million ticket sales over the weekend. It also performed well in China with $21.9 million, in South Korea with $14.9 million, and so on.
