Boston native actress Uma Thurman will be the spearhead of a campaign dedicated to fight the breast cancer.
The star who is 40 years old, and who was nominated for an Oscar in 1995 for playing Mia Wallace in "Pulp Fiction", teamed up with brands like Donna Karan and Saks Fifth Avenue in order to attract public attention about the danger of the high incidence of breast cancer and was appointed Ambassador to the Saks Annual Key to the Cure.
Contactmusic.com quoted Uma Thurman: "Everyone I know has been affected in one way or another by breast cancer. It is vital to work on finding a treatment and to develop reliable and advanced test methods.
The actress which starred in movies like "Kill Bill 1 and 2", "My Super Ex-Girlfriend", "The Life Before Her Eyes", "The Accidental Husband" or "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" will appear in advertisements and will wear in public a shirt which is a limited edition, specially created for this campaign by Donna Karan.
All incomes will be donated to charity. Donna Karan said that she doesn't wants only to dress women, but to address the thorny issues that are so important for each party represented in the fair sex.by FW Editor |
