Virgin Mobile Festival 2009 tickets being given for free

Thursday, June 25 2009

by Kaustav Das Modak

This year's Virgin Mobile Festival was almost doomed with uncertainties when the organizers declared that 35,000 tickets for the event will be given for free in an honest effort to "make people happy".

The festival was recently renamed as Virgin Mobile Freefest and will be held at the Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, on August 30. According to the chairman of the concert promoting company I.M.P, "The idea was to do something that nobody else is doing."

Tickets for the events will be made public on June 27 on the website ticketmaster.com and special attention will be given to customers of Virgin Mobile and visitors of the previous

Virgin Mobile Festivals.

In addition to these, many popular acts like Blink-182, Weezer, Public Enemy, Pete Tong and others will be seen on stage at the Freefest.
