Whitney Houston Thought Bobby Brown Was Her Drug

Wednesday, September 16 2009

In her highly-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey, Whitney Houston revealed in detail her troubled marriage with ex-husband Bobby Brown and her addictions to cocaine and marijuana years back.

Reminiscing their darkest days as a couple, "He slapped me once, but he got hit on the head three times by me," she said. There was even a time when Houston "was horrified he spit on me, in my face."

Referring to Brown, she narrated, "He was my drug. I didn't do anything without him." During their time together, she simply downplayed her success, "I tried to play down all the time. I used to say, 'I'm Mrs. Brown, don't call me Houston.'"
